FINAL SELECTIONS FOR GIRLS’ TEAM ONTARIO RELEASED
The final selections for the U15 and U17 Girls’ Team Ontario have been released.
Open tryouts took place across Ontario in January and February, and a final tryout weekend at the end of February allowed the coaching staff to make their final selections.
Due to the highly talented pool of female Ontario athletes, the coaching staff decided to provide training and competition opportunities to a total of 47 athletes in order to further broaden Ontario’s pool of high performance athletes.
Twelve athletes from both age categories will defend Ontario’s national title this summer at the 2016 Canada Basketball National Championships at the University of Regina in Regina, Saskatchewan from July 25–30, 2016. The remaining players will compete at the US Junior Nationals/Nike National Championships in Washington, D.C.
Prior to the National Championships, the teams will attend the SLAM Summer Challenge in Montreal, Quebec (June 25–27) and the Nike National Invitational in Chicago, Illinois (July 9–12).
