Team Results & Tracking

Every Team Contact that has completely registered a team with Ontario Basketball will be provided a User Name and Password by the Basketball Ontario Provincial Competitions staff. These password are reset annually.
Steps to enter the team results are as follows: 1) Using this link https://www.basketball.on.ca/coach/login a coach will access the input screen for his/her User Name and Password. If you have registered your team online, submitted payment and sent in the roster form to the Ontario Basketball office, you will then recieve a call or email with your team tracking login. 2) Click on "Teams" in the left column to see a listing of the Club’s teams 3) On the Club – Team – List screen select the appropriate team from the list 4) At the Club- Team- Information screen click on [ ADD TEAM RESULTS ] 5) The Club-Team-Results-Form enables input of specific game opponents and scores. Select the "Visiting" team from the drop down selection. The "Home" score will always be the "Team Name" shown at the top of this screen. 6) Click Insert Result to complete the input. All results must be entered by the winning team of each Ontario Basketball game, this includes all games at sanctioned tournaments, league play and exhibition games. All scores must be entered online including Sanctioned Tournaments, exhibition games and league games. Every team is responsible for double checking all scores have been submitted prior to each respective Ranking and Seeding deadline. Any false scores or inaccuracies will be reviewed by the Chair of Fair Play and Resolution. After the initial rankings have been published any coach wishing to provide any additional information about their results may send the Intitial Ranking Review Form to their regional ranking rep. If your region does not have a ranking rep listed, the forms must be sent to the Ontario Basketball office. Any divisions that do not have a initial ranking submission may send the review form with their comments on their final ranking deadline. Purpose: The Ranking and Seeding Committee ("RSC") is a Committee reporting to Ontario Basketball’s Provincial Competitions Steering Committee, comprised of Regional Representatives of Ontario Basketball’s affiliated club members and other members appointed by the Board of Ontario Basketball. The RSC’s purpose is to oversee the ranking and seeding of teams for provincial basketball competitions for children and youth, in accordance with Ontario Basketball's policies and procedures. The over-arching purpose of the RSC is to foster a basketball environment which, in accordance with Ontario Basketballs’s Fair Play policies, promotes healthy child development; incorporates age appropriate skill development; provides access to programs for athletes and coaches who are members of Ontario Basketball; and seeks to ensure the safest possible environment for all participants in Ontario Basketball sanctioned games. Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the RSC includes: 1. To collect game results from sanctioned tournaments, leagues and exhibition games. Ranking and Seeding Process 1. Team Result Reporting Each team intending to participate in the provincial basketball competitions must submit their team results online prior to the respective age group deadline. The Ranking and Seeding Committee member in the respective category of play, gender and region will then be provided a copy of the results for all of their teams from their region to bring to the initial and/or final ranking meeting. 2. Failure to Submit Results i. Where teams have failed to submit results for the initial ranking and seeding (U15 Midget Boys to U19 Junior Men excluded), it is the responsibility of the regional representative to contact the coach to request the form. ii. Where contact has been made and the form is not submitted, the initial ranking and seeding (U15 Midget Boys to U19 Junior Men excluded) will be ranked as N/R (Not Ranked). iii. Where teams have failed to submit for final ranking and seeding the regional representative is to contact the Club contact, or in the case of U15 Midget Boys to U19 Junior Men, the team Coach. iv.Where teams have failed to submit their scores for final ranking and seeding the team will be fined $100 for a first offence and $200 for each subsequent offence. 3. Initial Ranking i. Each Regional Representative must rank the teams in their region using the following criteria · Head to Head results ii. Team data including Team name, and results from the ranking and seeding criteria are entered on a Q Card iii. Each team is then ranked by the committee according to this data. iv. The results of this initial ranking is inputted onto Basketball Ontario's web site for review by coaches. 4. Final Ranking i. The teams ranking is revisited with added weight being given to most recent games played and any input received from non committee coaches. ii. Once the Final Ranking is complete and the teams are seeded, there is NO APPEAL PROCESS.
