OPEN IDENTIFICATION SESSIONS FOR WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAMS
Canada Basketball is hosting two Women’s National Open Identification Sessions for athletes interested in being seen by the women’s national team program and national coaches. The first session is in Toronto on Wednesday, May 10 at Ryerson University followed by the second session on Thursday, May 11 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton.
Note: Athletes are only required to attend one session.
The sessions are geared towards athletes with international potential who are eligible for the 2017 Junior Women’s National Team, Development Women’s National Team and Senior Women’s National Team.
Junior: Athletes born 1998 or later
Development: FISU athletes born between January 1, 1993 and December 31, 1999. Athletes must also meet the academic eligibility requirements outlined below.
• Be a student who is currently officially registered proceeding towards a degree or diploma at a university or similar institute in Canada or outside of Canada whose status is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority of their country; or
Note: Post-secondary institutions include community colleges, professional schools, technical schools, C.E.G.E.P., and universities.
Senior: Open age
Additionally, athletes in all age categories must have a valid Canadian passport.

Athletes are responsible for all costs required to attend and participate in an open identification session, including insurance.
