Intro to Comp Adv

Level two has changed. All coaches that wish to pursue the next level in NCCP education should take the Ontario Basketball Introduction to Competition Advanced courses listed here. Only coaches who already have their level two technical should take the Coaches Association of Ontario's Intro to Comp Part B course. Introduction to Competition Advanced (ITCA) is a competency based course. Participants will download a pre task reading materials and complete the table on the last page and then register for a basketball specific Introduction to Competition Advanced course offered exclusively through Ontario Basketball. Most ITCA courses occur on weekends and consist of a four hour Friday night and two, eight hour days. Topics covered include basic mental skills, planning for the development of basketball players and how to support the athlete in training. Approximately one quarter of the course will take place in the gym, on a basketball court so participants must be prepared with appropriate gear. After the clinic, participants will be asked to submit a coaches portfolio to a trained Ontario Basketball Introduction to Competition evaluator and arrange for an evaluation. Evaluations are to be arranged through the Ontario Basketball office or through an evaluation clinic. Please complete the following steps prior to contacting Ontario Basketball for an evaluation:
Note: Participants entering into an Introduction to Competition Advanced course must read the Pre Task listed below prior to attending the course. After reading, participants must print off and complete the table at the end the Pre Task. Failure to do so may result in an unsuccessful training session.
