Level three of the NCCP is comprised of three different components: Theory, Technical and Practical.
The technical portion is available through an Ontario Basketball NCCP clinic. Topics covered in this course include: Transition offence, Man-to-Man defence, Mental training, Strength Training and many more.

The Theory portion is available through the Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO) and is called Comp Dev. Comp Dev is delivered in modules. Modules include: Athletic Ability, Coach and Lead, Conflict Management, Injury Prevention, Psychology and Doping Prevention.

The practical portion evolves being evaluated by a master course conductors. Master course conductors will evaluate a practice and a game. Coaches will be required to demonstrate the ability to offer an elite experience. Evaluation forms will be mailed or faxed once an application is approved.

To receive practical level three certification a candidate is required to:
Complete five years of coaching, 2 years of coaching at an elite level, defined as senior high school, regional team, University or College; Minimum hours:
Training/Practice Component 150 hours (70 - 80 Practices), Game Component 80 hours (40 games). This may be achieved by coaching more than one team within two years.
Pre-requisite: Full Level 2 Certification, Level 3 Technical Clinic,
Assignment:
- Submit a practice plan of a current practice
- List goals and objectives for the season
- Submit a coaching/teaching resume
- Submit a game plan (strategy) and or scouting report for the game that will be evaluated
- Submit a reference letter
- Submit a copy of your schedule, including practice dates, times and locations.
Applicants will be notified of an evaluation date by a Master Course Conductor, two to three weeks prior to a practice or game.
